Its all gone folks. Bookmark the new forums ASAP, because all this is going to be missing shortly. Look fowards to Nerdtopia 2.0, we'll see you on the other side.
Hey, Bizhat. Here's a hearty "Fuck you", straight from all the former members of the "Nerdtopia" crew. For the 10,000+ threads we just lost, for the 100,000+ posts that are gone forever.
Seriously, fuck you all. I'm tired of having my forum shit on by your cock gobbling IT personnel. When I was looking for a free web host, I thought you guys would be OK. Your bandwidth and hosting limits were just where I needed them, and it seemed easy enough to get more storage space, should I ever want it. I signed up back when Invision Power Boards were the only free forum option. IPB was great - it offered more control and more options that phpBB, and still does. So I set up a free IPB board, and was a happy camper.
Then you douche bags decided to change the language settings on my board. I logged on one day to find that everything had been set to an Indian character set, and I didn't have the authority as admin to change them back. I had to explain to my members that one of the higher-ups spilled some of the jizz he (or she, to be fair) was gargling, all over some important piece of equipment, and we just had to wait for them to clean it up. So we waited, and sure enough it cleared up. For about 6 months. Then one of you fuckers did it again, and we couldn't read anything anymore for another 2 weeks. I shouldn't have to fucking learn Sanskrit just to talk to my friends online.
Not to mention the mySQL errors! About once a year my forums would suffer from a mySQL error and be rendered unusable for weeks. I'd post about the problem here or send off an email to the support team, and pray you dumbasses could read enough English to understand that something needed to be reset. But when you added phpBB functionality, your care for us seemed to just disappear. Because when our boards went down for the last time, nobody apparently seemed to notice that the IPB boards were all malfunctioning.
I tried to back up the forums, but apparently I didn't have the permission to do that either. I offered to pay you greedy fucks to backup my forums for me, but I never heard back. I was done taking your shit a year ago, but the only choice I was left with was to stick it out until the bitter end, or lose 3 years worth of threads, projects, essays, contests, and literature.
But now that bitter end is here, and for it you can all go fuck yourselves. The link to my forums now redirects to your phpBB signup page. What the fuck is that? Did you honestly think if was bloody fine and dandy to delete all of our hard work and replace it with a fucking ad? A fucking ad for your own service!? Thats a real dick move, Bizhat.
So here's what I think of your service: you get what you pay for. Seeing as it's a free service, don't expect to get jack shit. In fact, expect to have everything taken from you. Expect to have 3 years of posts and threads deleted because some asshole wants you to use a different software. A different software that gives you less control and fewer options. So you can expect to get a nice hard assfucking by a bunch of foreigners with the shittiest IT training in the world.

Look! News! Whee! Two main issues at hand:
-
The Script for "Blade of the Maple Leaf: Tales of the Last Canadian Samurai" has been posted under the articles section as a PDF format. Give it a read, if you haven't already.

As some of you will notice, or will have noticed, some pages (Like this one) are missing links to the "Campaign" section of the site. this is mainly due to the fact that the campaign is on hiatus, until some day in the far far future when we're heavilly deprived of sleep and bored of playing on the X-BOXes. That, and I was working on finding a chatroom client for the site, which is another project joining the closet of forgotten afairs. Along with "Al Gore's Election Day 2000 Fragfest", and our army of battlemechs. I haven't (and probably won't) gotten around to clearing the links to the "Campaign" section from the rest of the pages yet, so until then, enjoy your borked links.

There is an important poll in the forums, regarding the campaign. I'd like you all to vote on
it when you can. Please check it out as soon as possible.

Updated the Links section. Enjoy your new visual fodder while I work
on the campaign s'more.
- 12/23/04 -
Well, long story short, site is back up, everything is happy. Fixing some bugs, but all is good.
- 11/26/04 -
Well lookee here! An update! For those of you who actually pay
atention to the site instead of just the forums, you may have noticed
a new section under the campaign. The map! Now that you folks have a
small idea of what the campaign world will end up looking like in the
end, you might want to start thinking about your character and his/her
backstory. I wont be collection for a week after I finish the campaign,
Which might mean that you wont need them for another 3 weeks at most,
but it never hurts to get a head start, eh?

First issue of news today, Ben's two newest articles have been
posted up in the Articles section! I'd reccomend you read both of them,
they're both pretty funny.
Secondly, for those of you who noticed the ad on the forums, I
figured out how to fix it - and did, of course. I think it was just
a bug, but it's ben fixed either way.
- 10/25/04 -
Right, well. I got the articles section up, and the first
submission is by ben. I'll be accepting articles for a long time -
until I get tired of posting them, that is. Just e-mail them to me,
preferably as an attachment saved as a text file or Word File. If you
are doing a rant that you will be accepting comments on, please tell
me so that I can mirror it in the Rants section of the forum too. Ciao!
EDIT: Bugs with the Articles page fixed.
- 10/20/04 -
Well so far I've gotten the forums up, and the links section.
If you have any ideas as to what else you would like to see, e-mail
me at [email protected] or tell me at school. Alternatively,
you could post it on the forums under chatterbox. I'm always open to
new ideas, and the site needs your input to advance! Also, if you
haven't yet registered on the forums, do so now! However, read the
rules first. There have been some issues with registration, but
nothing that can't be easilly fixed.
Brought to you by Rusty.
