Steal This Article
It's time for a new article. There's a new flavor of gimmick-thread on the forums these days- the card-playing kind. It's only a matter of time before someone starts a Rook thread, probably Remy, where a moderator PM's everyone their individual hands from an actual deck or a normal deck assigned Rook card names to allow for shuffling.
On School- School has hit that flat point, where there's too much time between holidays, so the day gets into a kind of routine. Wake up, maybe go to an AP review, do math homework in English to drown out the BS, do math, talk about the campaign with Paul, Rook and the Depression in History, random stuff in Chemistry. Everything starts to slow down, and hometime is never spent on homework, rather, computers, then napping, then computers. It's even more methodical than during engineering season, where you counted on a meeting every single day. Half days and a faint glimmer of the first playing session offer relief. Meanwhile, I'm distanced from some people in the group. Not to mention things that fall through- mainly Colin funnights and Lloyd's percussion ensemble. Where's the fun?
The Forum. Nerdtopia is experiencing a brief upsurge due to the advent of Magic gaming, and, surprisingly, Remy's return. We now need a topic to debate as a group. Any takers? Religion still hasn't died, but we've killed it. That might have just exterminated a few brain cells. There are other forums I frequent. The D&D forum is a nice read, though there are some IDIOTS on there. The Snafu Roleplaying forum, which I abandoned at the start of Engineering, I have found to be the same old thing. Is this good? The return to the past? Old ways? In history we've heard the ins and outs of why such thoughts of conservatism and normalcy can be destructive. Speaking of the old ways-
The Lord of the Rings. Seeking reading material, I happened upon my old (read, new) book. It combines all six books into one...why six? Because each book was subdivided into two books. Tolkien was a genius, hands down. After watching The Return of the King today, Peter Jackson managed to capture a good deal of that genius and put it into a little 4+ hour phial of light. I've also realized that, even in the books, Gimli was the comic relief dwarf, but he wasn't a stupid dwarf. Speaking of stupid and smart-
The new Homer Simpson. The new Homer does not act the way he once did. Before, he was nobly ignorant, blissfully inane, and heart-warmingly lovable. His current incarnation consists of assitude, religious propaganda, feeble attempts at subtlety, and overall outrageous awfulness. If this is a diatribe, call me a ranter. Simpsons is fading fast- they're one clip show away from the brink of the abyss. It's just tragic. Speaking of tragedies-
Mr. Newcome's English class. Speaking of failures-
The Game Boy Advance. I'd say it, too, has reached its later day, and shall go to haunt the halls of forgotten systems, taking it's place with its brothers, the Game Boy, the Game Boy Color, and the Game Boy Pocket. I never owned a Game Boy, nor an NES/SNES. Thus, my nostalgia is not the nostalgia of most nostalgic gamers, who long for green pastures filled with Ataris, Mario, and old-school Street Fighter. The GBA must go into the West, for now are the days of the DS- which may be brief themselves.
Thus, my article, while seeking to spark interest in the forum as a whole, has polymorphed itself into a reflection of my own personal whininess. Wait- Wizards banned polymorph, as it was too good. Fucking splatbooks...anyway, at least this article follows the scheme of Ben's. Note: if Paul doesn't start the campaign by the end of March, I will be sponsoring one of my own, possibly online is need be. I end with these parting words- snootch to the nootch, my new name should be Andrew "Mo Bitches" Main, and w00t.
Excelsior, bitches.
